I heard his voice from afar
Hoarse as he sang the blues,
I walked down the street every morning
And he was always sitting on the pavement
With his old guitar in his hands,
He had a hunger for music
Like he was singing for his life.
I would stand for hours
Staring at him,
My body feeling the blues
Not wanting him to stop.
He did not really need money
He wanted love.

Excellent portrait of a man - you caught him in a picture of words!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a singer, I have to say that music flows through us like blood. I have a daughter who is the same - you can't stop us even when our "pipes" don't work.
Expression are good enough to raise the feel... :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much both <3
